America’s Got Talent is hoping to end Season 14 on a high note, with eight of its final 10 acts being either solo musicians or vocal groups. And with Wednesday’s grand finale (NBC, 8/7c) fast approaching, time is running out for the viewers to decide their fates.
Of course, if there’s one thing we’ve learned from watching the past 13 seasons of this show, it’s that the deserving act isn’t necessarily the one that ends up taking home the grand prize. With that in mind, have another look at this season’s final 10 acts and ask yourself two questions: Which act will probably win Season 14, and which one should win?
* Singer Benicio Bryant, 14, has been wowing the judges ever since he auditioned with Brandi Carlile’s “The Joke,” exhibiting a vocal prowess far beyond his years. But it was his follow-up performances, including several songs he wrote himself, that really helped Bryant stand out from the pack.
* The Detroit Youth Choir, which earned Terry Crews’ Golden Buzzer during the first round of auditions, has breezed through the competition with powerful performances of songs like Carrie Underwood’s “The Champion” and Panic! At the Disco’s “High Hopes.”
* Opera singer Emanne Beasha, 10, has been on our radar ever since Jay Leno hit his Golden Buzzer for her during the quarterfinals. And even though she’s continued to impress us in each round, her most recent performance — an Italian version of Bryan Adams’ “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” — nearly cost her the competition.
* Singer and pianist Kodi Lee, 22, was the season’s first breakout star. His audition, a stunning performance of Donny Hathaway’s “A Song for You,” became a viral sensation (45 million views and counting!) and earned him Gabrielle Union’s Golden Buzzer. Blind and autistic, Lee has become an inspiration to countless people. And his subsequent performances, including Calum Scott’s “You Are the Reason,” have made him a viable candidate for this season’s big winner.
* Light-up dance group Light Balance Kids, which earned Ellie Kemper’s Golden Buzzer during the Judge Cuts, has always been a crowd pleaser — but that doesn’t necessarily make it a safe bet. For example, a Marvel-inspired performance in the semifinals nearly sent the group packing, though the Dunkin’ Save came through and secured it a spot in the finals.
* The Ndlovu Youth Choir‘s journey this season has been full of surprises. Despite consistently delivering uplifting, impressive performances, the South Africa-based group hasn’t had the easiest time securing America’s votes. In both the quarterfinals and semifinals, the choir only proceeded by earning the Judges’ Choice after losing out on the Dunkin’ Save.
* Ryan Niemiller‘s brand of self-deprecating humor and positivity in the face of adversity has earned him a special place in the judges’ hearts. Unfortunately, America isn’t quite as enamored. After all, the 36-year-old comedian came close to being eliminated during the semifinals, narrowly making it through by earning the Dunkin’ Save.
* Another Golden Buzzer recipient, 11-year-old violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa has consistently impressed the judges and earned the viewers’ votes throughout each stage of the competition. And besides excelling at the violin, Butler-Figueroa has a secret weapon: his dancing feet! Strings and steps have proven to be a winning combination for the leukemia survivor.
* If ever an AGT act has lived up to its name, it’s the acrobatic dance group V.Unbeatable. Not only did the group earn Dwayne Wade’s Golden Buzzer during the Judge Cuts round, but America has consistently voted it through without hesitation.
* It’s hard not to salute Voices of Service, a vocal quartet made up entirely of veterans and active-duty service members, after everything we’ve seen from the group this season. From Katy Perry’s “Rise” to OneRepublic’s “Choke,” Voices of Service’s powerful performances have left us speechless.

I don’t think I’ve ever had this many favorites in the final hours. I have no clue, and I don’t think I care! ♥
Dom Chambers was my favorite this season still hate it he was eliminated last week. Ryan is my favorite left but I will be okay with Kodi Lee winning which all signs are pointing too.
I love Dom. He wasn’t my choice to win but I was disappointed when he was eliminated last week. I thought he deserved to go to the finals. He puts on a great act and he’s so very likable. I do believe he will still have a great career.
Don’t think judging is fair. If there are 10 people ,they can get hundreds of votes as 1 person will not get as many votes. Not fair. Should have another way to cast voting.
I believe america should pick only the top 10. Then the judges should be the final decision
That would be a terrible move.
I totally agree! While I’m thrilled for Kodi Lee that he so deserved to win, there were others that I felt the judges (who KNOW talent) were disappointed with the audience results getting the ax.
If America is voting, and deciding who wins on AGT, why are judges needed. The opera singer has a born talent and all the judges were amazed with her performances. She should have won but the judges votes mean nothing. American people vote on who they know and not the quality of talent.
I used to love this show. I loved the variety, and the judges made it even more entertaining. Now it’s turned into a sympathy contest where howie Mandel pushes for the biggest sob story to win, and the variety has all been replaced by American idol lite. I keep trying every season to get back Into it, but I just can’t. The attempt at constant tear jerking is too much.
Ya know, you could do what I do…record the show and just fast forward past the back story crap.
That’s what we do. On AGT as well as the Voice. As far as this year’s AGT – I think it’s a weak crop. I’d only pay money to see V.Unbeatable.
I’m not saying there aren’t talented people there, but just not the level of past seasons.
I don’t see an article on Bring the Funny – but holy moly – big time disappointed in that show’s contestants. The way the judges were falling down laughing over the smooshed cookie routine? Whatever. Really made me miss Last Comic Standing.
Like cody isnt a sob story
I agree. Even if the candidates had conquered hardships, we don’t need to hear it. This show is about talent and we should be entertained and not be burdened with their troubles. If that was what we wanted, we would watch Dr. Phil. When watching a show like AGT, we want to enjoy ourselves by watching singing, dancing, acrobatics, magic and thrilling stunts. So much time was taken up by dramatic back stories when I would have preferred to just see the talent. The show could be an hour long instead of two if the unnecessary drama was eliminated. Not sure I will watch it again next season.
How can some groups even be on AGT when they are not from America.
In fairness, the show is called “America’s Got Talent” (since this is where the competition takes place) and not “American’s With Talent.” Sure it would possibly make more sense to only have American acts, but the established rules are that as long as the act is able to be in and work in America legally, they are permitted to be on it
This is something that happens on all the Got Talents. The Professional Regurgitator probably being the biggest example. He’s Scottish and has been on the British, American, Czech, Italian, French, and German versions. Even more absurd is he was on the German version twice. He placed 7th in 2010 and won last year.
Because of their talent they are standing on that level of stage . I am damn sure that V UNBEATABLE will win if they get support of America ….
I don’t think their should be so many singers or youth groups kodi Lee is great and the teen boy and opera singer but other than that the singers are very generic and the service group got threw cuz of military status the violinist is a sob story and is not that good at violin his dancing is corny. The comic is funny. I’m going with light balance
.they are the most entertaining. Kids from south Africa and Detroit are so lame. V unbeatable is pretty cool. That graffiti guy should of won it all.. His art was amazing this really shows how dull America is picking a ton of good singers that are nothing unique.
I think you have a problem. You know exactly what I mean!
Respect Detroit Youth Choir!
Kodi Lei is my absolute favorite !
Me too. Kodi Lee. Inspired of life…
Kodie is Johnny Mathis Andy Williams and Frank Sinatra all wrapped up in one He’s a classic talent no one can beat
Sorry, I don’t think he has a very good voice at all. I’ll pass on the screeching.
I think that some people are tone deaf if they can’t hear the beauty in Kodi Lee s voice and feel it in their hearts how wonderful he truly is.May be a jealous thing.
Definitely not jealous and I’m certainly not tone deaf. He totally destroyed Bridge Over Troubled Water with his screeching and I wasn’t the only one who thought so. I know I’m in the minority because he’ll probably win but I am entitled to my own opinion without you telling me I’m tone deaf and jealous.
Shannon, I completely disagree with you regarding Kodi’s singing/voice. I think he has a gorgeous voice. But I don’t believe for one second that you’re tone deaf OR jealous. lol The whole “You’re just jealous” nonsense when someone doesn’t share another person’s opinion is beyond ridiculous. You have an opinion and you’re entitled to it.
Thank you for saying that. I appreciate that you think he has a gorgeous voice. Music is very subjective and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I happen to think he is extremely overrated and that it’s highly based on his disabilities. Also, if you’re going to call one contestant out on only doing covers, then that isn’t fair either. Call out one, call out all. No matter the circumstances.
I loved his first performance on AGT. Well, I loved ALL of his performances. But the first was so special. I don’t think many people, myself included, expected to hear that voice come from him. Kind of reminded me of Susan Boyle when she first auditioned on BGT. The audience and judges laughed and snickered at her and then she opened her mouth and began to sing and the laughing stopped and everyone was mesmerized by her. People didn’t laugh at Cody when he took the stage but I don’t think they were expecting that voice to come from him. Did you catch Simon’s facial expressions when Kodi sang Bridge Over Troubled Water? We’ve seen him smile during performances before but during that song, he beamed like a proud father. And then last night they showed him while Kodi sang and he has his eyes closed, enjoying Kodi’s voice. I loved that. I love that Kodi’s music is his way to show his family love and affection. I love when he claps after he’s finished singing as well. Win or lose, I hope Kodi goeon tour at some point because i will DEFINITELY go to see him!
I agree with Steph 24 he’s amazing what a blessing
Best performer ever u go Cody
I think they are all talented. That being said. I don’t think most couldn’t hold a show in Vegas. Entertaining on stage and holding a whole show in Vegas is something else. But good luck to all! My favorite is Benicio Bryatt.
I hate how AGT changed their vision for the show from being about pure talent to a show about what is the most entertaining and can be a good show in Vegas. This whole idea about being a Vegas show only came about after the season Terry Fator won and got that 10-year $100 million dollar contract in Vegas. I’d like the show to return to its roots and be a show a about talent, regardless of whether it wouldbe a good Vegas show.
wrong, the winner gets a headline show in Vegas as well, so yes it has to be a Vegas show. Only after the Vegas show, did Fator get offered a 10 year $100 million contract. The winner gets a $1 million and headline Vegas Show, which in return has big value for the winner.
On tv, they make it sound like the Vegas shows are some sort of guaranteed residency, but the reality is that the the Vegas shows have always been the last few shows on an AGT tour that also features several other acts from the finals. While the winning act headlines those shows and gets more money due to winning, others will be exposed to the same audiences and have the same opportunity for future success. Often, they do find more than the actual winners.
I lost interest in Americas Got Talent when a young girl playing a ukulele who could not sing won.
But she had talent. That’s the point of the show. It’s a talent competition. Maybe you didn’t like her songs or singing style, but you have to admit she had talent. And she was the most popular talent, so she won.
I agree that they go for the sympathy card, especially with the youth. They could separate it out and have a youth competition and an adult competition. Talent has been good, but they overkill the production. Let talent be talent and add the glitz and glamour when they get to Vegas.
She was signed to a record contract and is now putting out Top 100 singles. So she had some talent.
A Song For You was written, recorded, and made everlasting by Leon Russell…not D. Hathaway. Cody Lee did a great reinvention and should win AGT this season. However, l think they’ll put him in the top three, not overall winner. Go Kody!!!
Thank you. So many stories about this performance ignore Leon Russell.
Kodi Lee has been my absolute favorite from the beginning. I was in tears when he sang and played “Bridge over troubled waters”, he is Amazing!!!
Kodie Lee is inspirational! He has a God given talent with all the obstacle he’s faced in his life! He gives others with blindness & autism that there is hope to follow your dreams and never give up! I pray he wins, he deserves it!
This is the best AGT I’ve ever watched. WOW, all contests are terrific. There all great and have too vote for all. There is no way I can pick just one. This was one great finally and I hope every contestant has a great and prosperous future.
I like kodie because being blind and autistic that’s really a very rare talent..
Kodie Lee is Johnny Mathis Andy Williams and Frank Sinatra all wrapped up in one He’s a classic talent
Kodie Lee is Johnny Mathis Andy Williams and Frank Sinatra all wrapped up in one He’s a classic talent you can’t beat
Kodi Lee should win. He is so fantastic I could listen to him sing all day long. Would love to have a CD of his.

Kodi Lee has my vote to win from day 1. He performs with feeling and emotion.

Kodi Lee should win. There are a lot of good acts, but come on, with his talent you should definitely be the winner. Come on America open your eyes, better yet open your ears. Go Cody, can’t wait to see you in concert
