Participant must be able to:
Prerequisite 1:
-Jump into the water from the side, totally submerge, recover to the surface and swim 150 yards using either front crawl or breaststroke, demonstrating breath control.
-After swimming 150 yards, maintain position at the surface of the water without support for 2 minutes by treading.
-After maintaining position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes, swim 50 more yards.
Prerequisite 2: Timed event to be completed in 1 minute and 40 seconds without goggles.
-Starting in the water swim 20 yards.
-Surface dive (head or feet first) to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10 pound object.
-Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on your back to return to the starting point, holding the objext at the surface with both hands and keeping your face at or near the surface.
-Place the object on the pool deck and exit the water without using the steps of the ladder.

-CPR mask
-Swimsuit and towel

If you currently hold the American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, you qualify to take the Lifeguard Review. The course "tests out" the participants of all the practical and written exams they would take in the regular Lifeguard Class, and it only "reviews" material instead of "teaching"

To participate in the Lifeguarding Instructor Couse, individuals must:
Be at least 17 years of age on the last day of the course
Possess a current basic-level certification in Lifeguarding Instructor
Complete the online learning content on the Red Cross Learning Center
Obtain all instructor and participant materials before entering the first session of the instructor course.
