Cotton Seed Distributors has been working with DataFarming (Australia) to map all QLD and NSW cotton fields over the 2022 season. Remote sensing data has been used to identify actual planted areas and to determine proportions of irrigated vs. dryland production. Growth stage determination and efficiency measures are next on the list, with promising opportunities to detect key stages from satellite. #growth #machinelearning

This is so cool. Our rice harvest date prediction tool is working overtime at the moment, as crops come into harvest in Australia. Our satellite captures have started across the whole Australian #rice industry. Some really nice looking data coming through. If you are a rice farmer or agronomist please log onto the platform and click the 'high res' under the layer tab and all the dates will be there - it's free to access this season. Whilst it's not super high res (2.5m pixel) it provides greater detail in rice bays and picks up issues, like poor fertiliser spreading or planter issues, more clearly. The whole capture area is 1.6M hectares!!!
