MEDIA personality, Lerato Kganyago has once again shut down Valentine’s Day.

This year, her businessman husband Thami Ndlala left everyone’s jaws on the floor when he gifted her with an exclusive boutique hotel.

The hotel was previously a home the couple had renovated into a hotel. Lerato, who trended on social media platforms on Monday as everyone waited in anticipation of what she will be gifted with, told Daily Sun she was over the moon.

“I was speechless. The property looks nothing like what I had in the beginning, but I’m super excited this opportunity came sooner than I expected as the hospitality industry is something I’ve always wanted to be part of.”

According to the Metro FM presenter, she wants to give Mzansi a different perspective of the hospitality industry with her hotel, 12onhillel Villa & Spa.“We are still finishing off the finer details and construction, but we’re officially open for business,” she said. “As much as I want to contribute to the hospitality sector, I’ve also hit two birds with one stone and created employment, which is important as unemployment in our country is a big problem,” she said.

After the announcement of the hotel, people got the shock of their lives as the rooms appeared to be priced at over R100 000, but Lerato said this was a technical glitch.

“Rooms start from R6 000 like any other hotel, depending on the season, but when it comes to the packages, they’ll be a little bit pricier as they won’t be getting a standard room. But trust me, we’re going to be one of the affordable ones in town.” Lerato said the hotel in North Cliff, Joburg, comes with a restaurant and spa and has 14 rooms. Asked how much it cost them to renovate the house, Lerato said it is private.

Last year, her husband booked the FNB stadium for dinner, while Afro soul singer Zonke serenaded them.
