KINGSTON, N.Y. — Affordable housing agency RUPCO was one of five non-profit organizations in New York that were awarded funds from the TD Charitable Foundation to help support individuals and families in need, according to a press release.

The TD Charitable Foundation awarded $850,000 in grants to the agencies, with $150,000 of that earmarked for RUPCO’s “Housing Matters more than Ever” program, the release said. The program will help expand rental assistance, employment supports, and access to mainstream benefits for participants, especially homeless individuals, with housing affordability concerns.

The grants will help support the delivery of critical resident resources and wraparound services to individuals and families in need, such as eviction prevention, housing and financial counseling, workforce development, and housing search assistance, according to the release from the TD Charitable Foundation.

The foundation also awarded $250,000 to Catholic Charities Neighborhood Services, Helping Individuals and Families, the release said. The grant will enhance a program that reduces barriers to clients’ access to care and services that meet their needs.

The TD Charitable Foundation’s Housing for Everyone grant program is now in its 16th year, the release said. It is an annual grant program supporting affordable housing organizations and projects. Since 2005, the program has awarded nearly $42 million to more than 500 affordable housing projects across TD Bank’s geographic footprint from Maine to Florida.
