Organizer of Summer Seminar Series, 2022
Are you interested in grassroots conservation, rare plants and animals, desert ecology and human history? Our organization hosts virtual educational events designed to showcase the incredible ecological, cultural, and geological wonders of the Amargosa Basin. As the only free-flowing river in the Mojave Desert, the Amargosa River supports a network of oases that in turn support some of the rarest and most biodiverse life on the planet. This region is also the traditional homelands of the Timbisha Shoshone, Moapa Paiute and Chemehuevi Tribes. The Amargosa Conservancy is a 501(c)(3)working in the Amargosa Basin in California and Nevada. The mission of the conservancy is to work towards a sustainable future for the Amargosa Basin through science, stewardship, and advocacy.
