Welcome to the Freedom Trail! Where you can discover some key historic points that play a role in marking the fight for freedom, around the city of Hull. The points across the map explore the history of slavery and the current issue of modern slavery. This adventure was created by Tanira and Gabby, graduate interns at the Wilberforce Institute which has been at the forefront of Modern Slavery research since 2006. We thought it would be most appropriate for this project to be produced for Anti-Slavery Day, 18th of October to help raise awareness and increase public engagement with this issue. The more this topic is actively thought about and discussed the more we can inform others that this deep-rooted issue still remains today.
