Our team recently completed construction of the new cardiovascular care facilities at Emory University Hospital (EUH). Located on the third and fourth floors of the EUH Tower, the new, 80,000-square-foot facility includes a 16-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit as well as a new suite of cardiovascular and thoracic operating rooms, a robotic surgical room housing Emory’s Davinci Xi robot, and catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories. We are proud to have been part of this project and look forward to seeing how the new facilities will enhance patient care at EUH for years to come. It was an amazing day at the Second Annual McCarthy Masters event at Topgolf El Segundo, raising funds and awareness benefiting behavioral health. Building on tradition, we took a little time from the workday to enjoy friends and colleagues, hit a few balls, enjoy a little lunch, and take time to laugh, for our mental health. Our McCarthy/ EJ Smith Construction team participated in a press conference at the Southern Gateway Park jobsite where Pete Buttigieg, United States Secretary of Transportation, highlighted the U.S. Department of Transportation Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods grants program and announced a grant that will go towards the construction of the next phase of the new park! Mayor Eric Johnson and other Dallas-Fort Worth leaders also spoke at the event. Today marks a pivotal milestone in healthcare development for the Fort Smith community as we celebrate the topping out of the Mercy Hospital Fort Smith expansion. The expanded hospital will significantly enhance healthcare services in the River Valley area of Arkansas by accommodating approximately 25,000 more patient visits per year. The $186-million expansion is being built on an active medical campus with a fully operational hospital and medical office buildings. It includes a new 5-story, 150,000-sq.ft. addition for the ICU and ER, as well as a new parking garage with surface and underground parking for more than 450 vehicles.
