Aussie founder raises $50m while rescuing her mum from Ukraine

Anastasia Volkova was in the middle of raising $50 million for her agricultural tech start-up Regrow, when Russia invaded her home country of Ukraine.

As she negotiated terms sheets with major US investors Galvanise Climate Solutions, Marc Benioff’s Time Ventures and female-founder focused outfit Rethink Impact, Ms Volkova was also trying desperately to help her mother flee a town close to the bombing.
