About the CAJAL Advanced Neuroscience Training Programme

The CAJAL Advanced Neuroscience Training Programme is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to enhance the quality and availability of advanced training in neuroscience techniques. Since 2015, The Cajal Programme has trained more than 1000 scientists in a wide range of neuroscience techniques, from experimental methods (e.g imaging, electrophysiology, optogenetics) to computational tools (e.g. modelling tools, analysis of large datasets, artificial intelligence and machine learning methods).

By offering scholarships, childcare, and other financial support, the Cajal Programme has been able to attract international renowned scientists as course faculty and to invite students from all over the world to attend its courses.

The position of Fundraising Manager

The Cajal Programme is now looking for a creative and resourceful Fundraising Manager who can help to further expand training activities, foster equity and diversity within the course faculty and participants, and make a real difference to training the next generation of neuroscientists worldwide.

Role:

The role is an outward-facing relationship role with the clear objective of increasing income through identifying and acquiring high-net-worth donors, sponsors, and foundations.

As Fundraising manager, you will work closely with the central administration and the Steering Committee in the development of compelling proposals and in the identification and stewardship of new sponsors and partners. You’ll use your expertise to steward, strengthen, and grow relationships with the existing portfolio as well as cultivating new relationships with potential donors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate & secure major donor prospects, trusts & foundations & donor networks.

  • Develop donor communication plans & progress reports.

Conditions

– 20 hours per week, between Monday and Friday (equivalent of 2.5 days per week)

– Fixed term contract (6 months in the first instance)

– Hybrid working

– Strategic & creative relationship role
