2-WEEK PROGRAM | September 19-20, 2022 | Fort Chipewyan

LEARN TRADITIONS FROM OUR ELDERS IN THIS HANDS-ON LAND-BASED LEARNING PROGRAM.

Open to First Nation, Métis, and Inuit residents of Fort Chipewyan ages 14-29 to help sustain traditional culture.

Learn the traditions related to food gathering, preparing, and preserving with the guidance of Elders. 

Upon successful completion of the program, the students will be able to apply their knowledge on the land and pursue careers in land-based learning. 

Training will include:

  • Standard First Aid & CPR

  • Canadian Firearms

  • Wildlife Awareness & Pleasure Craft

  • Alberta Trappers Association

    Hands-on land based learning program is seeking moose hunters interested in teaching our youth the ways of traditional hunts and survival skills.

    The program is looking for:

    • 3 hunters

    • 4 boats

  • CATERERS WANTED

    Now accepting bids from caterers. Multiple caterers needed. Include menu details in bid. Must have safe food handling certificate. Caterer will need to provide all drinks, cutlery, utensils etc.

    Submissions must be received by September 2, 2022.
